Although I have taught for many years, I have had an unusually varied teaching career. After teaching English in Taiwan for nine years, I discovered that my teaching skill set was equally applicable to helping children with learning difficulties back in the U.S. Meanwhile, over the course of many years, I acquired huge numbers of musical instruments because, “You never know, I might get to be a music teacher someday, and then I’ll need this extra set of (fill in the blank).” As luck would have it, I finally had the opportunity to fulfill my professional goals when I came to work at HLA, where I can combine my passion for music and art with my dedication to helping children overcome learning difficulties.
