Hello! My name is Evan Smethers and I am so excited to be the kindergarten teacher here at HLA. I have been teaching since 2017, with most of my experience in first grade.
I was born and raised in St. Petersburg, Florida and now live in Micanopy. I graduated from the University of Florida with a bachelor’s in marine science and a minor in teaching.
In my free time, my husband and I love to take our two girls (1&3) to the beach, camping, or to explore new places! We also spend a lot of time taking care of all our animals. We have a cow, a donkey, a pig, three goats, two emus, two dogs, and eight chickens.
I look forward to a great year!
